It amazes me how many home business owners refuse to invest in a decent printer, thinking that laser printer toners are too expensive for a small-sized business. Granted, they’re not cheap, but they come in handy when you need something that stands out for your clients.
I bought mine the first week after launching my company, along with a cheap scanner/printer on the side. Normally, of course, I use the cheapest solution, but I seem to run out of toner at the worst possible times, and having the laser toner as a backup solution works like a charm for me.
Also, laser printing yields far better results, so I use that when I want to make a presentation file that will really catch the eye of a potential client. For business brochures and maps I employ a professional agency – I don’t have any taste or eye when it comes to these things – but every now and then I have to come up with a one-time good-looking offer, and the laser printer is really useful in those cases.
